CHAPTER ELEVEN
“Good morning” He said to her.
“Morning sir”.
He headed towards Khaleel’s office but she quickly let him know the situation at hand.
“He is absent today” She said and he turned to look at her surprised.
“You mean Khaleel did not show face at work today”? He asked her and she nodded positively.
“Did he tell you the reason”? He asked again.
“No he didn’t, i have been trying to place a call to him but it isn’t connecting”. ‘She replied’.
“Okay then, let me go check on him, it’s so unusual for him to remain at home when he is supposed to be in the office”.
After saying that, he walked out of the company.
Khalid pulled up at the gate of the mansion and was asked to wait outside until the security man contacted one of the maids stating someone was here to see boss man.
The maid informed Hajiya immediately and 10 mins later, Khalid was in boss man’s room.

“Hey man, what’s up with you”! He asked him after they exchanged taslim.
“Please and please, don’t come and annoy me with too much talks” Khaleel said putting back words into Khalid’s mouth.
“This one you are attacking me this way, hope am safe, well I just wanted to check on you and that’s all”. Khalid protested.
“And before I forget, you have to call your secretary. She is sick worried about your absence”. He added.
Khaleel hissed and turned sideways on the bed.
“Am serious fa, I left her in the company”. Khalid said.
“Khalid you were present in the meeting yesterday right, were you blind to see how she humiliated me” Khaleel marveled.
“Wait……..so that’s why you are giving me this attitude, lallai kana da aiki” Khalid said amidst laughter.
When Khalid was sure Khaleel won’t adhere to his talks, he went through his phone and gave Farida a call.
“Your boss is kinda sick but he’s feeling much better now, kindly go home and report back tomorrow”. He quickly said and hung up.
Khaleel just stared at him in disbelief.
“Why would you tell her to go home”? He furiously asked.
“So she should remain there while you aimlessly stay at home right, are you forgetting the fact that she is a married woman, why are you this heartless”?. Khalid threw back questions at him too.
“Am sorry! That’s not what I meant” Khaleel said making Khalid to pop out his eyes.
Did he just hear Khaleel said ‘sorry’ or was his ears deceiving him.
“Khalid what is it, why are you staring at me absentmindedly”? He asked as he waved his hands in front of his eyes.
“Ohh it’s nothing……….Khalid shook his head and calmly changed the topic”.
“It’s good to take a day off, atleast your body system needs rest”. He said and smiled. Khaleel too smiled.
“I need to go back to work, am at ease now knowing fully well that you are hale and hearty”. Khalid said standing up.
“Thank you so much for this kind gesture”
“You are welcome”.
He left after bidding Hajiya and the rest farewell.

Khaleel went for his phone and switched it on. A message notification popped up. It was from his secretary.
It went thus:
To my boss,
Get well soon. Complete shifa In Sha Allah.
Farida Balarabe.
He read it over and over again till he have memorized the message. He was blushing and the headache and annoyance vanished into thin air.
“SubhanAllah! What is wrong with me”?
“Why am I finding it difficult to get you off my mind”?
“What spell have you casted on me”?
“What is so special about you that is making me feel this way”?
“Please get off my heart”……………..he said aloud holding unto his head.
He didn’t realize he was whimpering already and decided to exit his room and get fresh air outside.
He toured the mansion and inserted earpiece in his ear, listening to the recitation of the popular Qaari Abdur-Rahman Sudais.
The last time he was listening to it, he stopped at suratul Ruum. Some moments later it got to:

He had also read in a book titled “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.
“Love is indeed a beautiful thing, nothing beats having someone to call yours but why is it difficult for him to fall in love”????
“Why can’t he catch feelings for any woman or is he a gay”? Hell no!!!.
