CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

Khaleel couldn’t push her away yet he did not reciprocate, he just stood there like a statue.

Ramlat held his hand and placed it on her chest and that was when he came back to his senses, he pushed her away and pointed a finger at her saying, “don’t you dare take advantage of me again, the next time you try this, I swear to God, you will regret ever knowing me”.

‘Now get out of my room this minute, he shouted and rubbed his palm on his reddened eyes’.

Ramlat was perplexed but she summoned the courage to walk her feet out. She went straight to her room and made a call.

“See I am tired fa, Khaleel is strong headed, he won’t give in so easily, how do you expect me to seduce him into getting me pregnant” She said worriedly.

The receiver at the other end wasn’t disappointed at all instead assured her to keep trying.

“Their marriage hasn’t been consummated yet and I know Khaleel to be a guy with an uncontrollable sexual urge, he would eventually give in, just make sure you succeed before his wife comes back”

After few encouraging words, Ramlat agreed to try again.

The receiver gave a satisfied sigh then hangs up.

Khaleel kept pacing to and fro in his room, how can he possibly stop Ramlat from misbehaving this way with him, should he report the issue to the elders or handle it his own way. ‘He thought to himself’.

He went back into the bathroom and purified himself before stepping out of the shower in his ensuite bathroom.

Standing on the heated tiled floors, drying off his smooth muscular body while conceitedly staring at himself in the mirror.

He loved what he saw, washboard abs, blemish free-caramel skin, toned thigh and arm muscles. No wonder this girl is so obsessed over my body ‘he shrugged and dressed up’

He dashed out of the house and drove straight to his mansion.

He pushed the door to her room open, causing it to squeal at the hinges.

She was lying there, sleeping soundly. Her smooth chocolate skin was a direct contrast to the beige sheets that covered the queen size bed.

Standing over her like a dark rain cloud, he stretched his hand to touch her kinky hair and get hold of her captivating jaw-dropping body but she vanished into the thin air – ‘he was only hallucinating’

He blinked his eyes and stared at the room, it was empty.

“Oh my God! What is wrong with me these days, why am I having this silly thoughts” he croaked out holding onto his head.

He opened the wardrobe and there lies few of the magazines she had appeared on the cover pages.

He kept ransacking through each of them till he was fed up. There is this blissful aura that sweeps through his limbs.

He returned the magazines to their positions and locked the door then headed back down the hallway to his bedroom, walking tall like a true tyrannical king of his castle.

* * * * *

The whole house feels empty like no soul has lived in there for many years. The vibrating sound of his phone made him jerked off the bed.

He reached out for the bedside mirror and picked his phone. Boldly written on the screen was “my wife” he had saved it that way to avoid suspicion.

He kept mute even after picking up the call, they spared some minutes for breathing exercise before Farida finally broke the silence.

“We arrived safely and the surgery will take place tomorrow” she said.

“About what transpired between us at the airport, I apologize for breaking a rule” he also said.

“It’s fine, next time please let’s control our emotions” She said and a smile graced his chin.

After the exchange of pleasantries and everything, she hung up.

Khaleel will now have a rest of mind, he thinks breaking a rule inflicted pains on her or better still her personality.

Little did he know he has buried his soul in her heart, that simple gesture has found him a home in her world.

He left the house to their favorite beach and sat on a thick fallen tree branch staring into space…….Reminiscing on his life.

Why does he feel attached to her anytime her thoughts crosses his mind. Is this love or lust…no he can’t possibly have feelings for her.
It can’t just happen, not now or ever.
With that thought, he smiled curving his lips.

He got home that evening and found Ramlat in his sitting room, he had actually left the door unlocked.

She glanced at him once he stepped him. “Welcome back” she said smiling.

“What the hell are you doing here”? He angrily asked.

Immediately she stood up and engulfed him in a tight hug. With a twitched face, he took in the tightness but frowned when the odor of alcohol hit his nose hard.

“SubhanAllah what have you done to yourself”? He asked while carefully pushing her away.

“Don’t you dare say a word” she yelled in a drunken state.

“I just want you to love me, to marry me and be my husband, is it too much to ask for, tell me”… She kept yelling till he placed his palm over her mouth.

Soon tears found their ways down her chin like loosened prisoners. Khaleel felt a spear dash into his heart, ‘it hurts to see someone in pain just because of you’.

He wish he could grant her heart desires but he can’t, he only love her as a sister and nothing more.

“Ramlat”, he called out but she didn’t reply, rather she fixed her gaze at him.

“Please don’t hurt yourself because of me, don’t destroy your life for my sake. I am your brother and will always be there for you” he worriedly said.

“You are not my brother but my cousin, we are allowed to get married in Islam, stop hiding under the umbrella of being my brother” she uttered silently.

“Allah is the master planner, if he has destined you to be my wife, nothing can stop that. You don’t have to push your way through, you will only ruin your life”…….he was still speaking when he noticed she has fallen asleep.

He adjusted her on the couch and left to Hajiya’s.
