Right from the incept, of this government of Bauchi state after a hard contested election between the then sitting Governor M.A Abubakar and the incumbent Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed under the opposition party, the PDP.
The state is in total doubt weather the government will be allowed to execute it’s development plans as expected? Because, 22 members out of 31 legislators are from the opposition party, the APC who lose the governorship seat to the PDP during the 2019 general elections.
One thing that drew the attention of many spectators is who will be in the exalted position of the Speaker of the state state Assembly? The story has changed completely, as the Honourable members dropped down party and local politics aside by electing a right person to occupy this noble position.
The Dangaladima of Ningi Abubakar Y Suleiman, who is a bonafide and dedicated member of the opposition APC, after a hotly contest with some leaders of the eight assembly. The nineth assembly started with alot of impasse as the losers refused to sheath their swords for the good people of Bauchi state, but with a leadership qualities and dedication of the speaker, with the intervention of some statemen and key political stakeholders in the state, the crisis that rocks the House was resolved amicably.
From the day the Honourable house set oncourse, it starts reaching out to the PDP executive arm for creating a cordial relationship for the betterment of the people of Bauchi state which the executive inturn extend the hand of friendship to the legislative arm wholeheartedly, in an effort to bring a milestone development to the good people of our dear state.
This development and correlation between the APC controlled Assembly and PDP executive, has brought about eminent progress in running the state quick passage of bills, assent and approving any requests from the state government transmitted to the assembly by the Governor, these and another personal relations attracted enviness from some APC leaders in the state as they are flaming the fire of misunderstanding between the members which led to some series of meetings and consultations amongst the party leaders in Gombe and Kano all in an effort to remove the speaker for what they termed for been subservient to the executive arm and he is not dancing to their tune, but all these were abortive.
The successes recorded by the government within a shortest time couldn’t be realized without the support of the opposition assembly, because in a democratic ideals and setting each tier is of useful to each in redeeming the promises to the electorates as promised during the electioneering campaign. Many bills for the common man and matters of urgent public importance have been passed by the house and assented in few hours by the Governor, the relationship between the two arms is becoming more solid as the Governor has one time letf the state the in the hand Speaker when he went out for foreign trip, which the political pundits said, it was the first of it kind.
As the correlation is yielding good, result in the areas of transforming the lives of the common man, the people of Bauchi state prays for more cordial friendship between them and further put party differences aside to bring development to the state.
