IIRO disburses N131m to 1,960 orphans, commends Kebbi Govt for assisting less previleged

The International Islamic Relief Organisation, IIRO, based in Saudi Arabia, has began the disbursement of one hundred and thirty one million naira as relief allowances to 1,960 orphans in Kebbi State.

At the flag off ceremony on Friday at the Banquet Hall of Presidential lodge, Birnin Kebbi , the Program Coordinator of the organization, Regional Office ,Kaduna, Dr Tahir Baba Ibrahim said the 2022 disbursement of the allowances covers a period of six months.

The support program, according to Dr Tahir has been ongoing for years, but it was suspended for ten years due to some reasons and resuscitated again.

” Soon after the flag off today, payment to the beneficiaries will continue.

“1,960 orphans will benefit from the relief allowances which are from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to improve their living conditions.

“In the revised program, the payments for the relief allowances will now be made in four years,” he averred.

The Coordinator extolled Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for supporting the activities of the organization, as well as his unwavering assistance to the less privileged in the state, particularly the orphans.

“I must commend the Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his relentless commitment and dedication for uplifting the lives of the less privileged, especially orphans .

”My appreciation goes to Kebbi Government for the warm hospitality accorded to us,” he added.

As a sign of appreciation to the myriad of assistance to the less privileged from Kebbi State Governor, the Islamic organisation presented a special copy of the Holy Quran and Hadiths written by the late renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Mahmud Gumi and translated into English by
Ustaz Hassan Abubakar Gumi.

In a remark, the Kebbi State Coordinator of IIRO, Imam Adam Abdullah Danko also appreciated both the organisation and Kebbi State Government for their kind gesture to the orphans and called on other organisations to do the same.

Danko further explained that the relief allowances to orphans are meant to encourage the education of orphans, as well as to improve their livelihood.

He expressed delight with the roburst relationship existing between the Kebbi State Government and the Organisation in all the 21 LGAs of the State.

The Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, represented by the Secretary to State Government, Babale Umar Yauri, expressed delight with the program, describing it as laudable.

The assistance, he said, would go a long way in complementing the efforts of the government towards supporting the less privileged in the State.

He said Kebbi State Government would continue to cooperate with the organisation in the discharge of its laudable programs of assisting the orphans.

”Kebbi State Government will do its best to capture those orphans not captured by the organisation,” he said.

He urged other organisations, the well to do and leaders to emulate the Islamic Organisation towards assisting the orphans

Earlier, the Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, who represented the SSG also welcomed officials of the organization to Kebbi State.
