Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has said that no single corruption case will be overlooked in the state and local levels.
Mohammed made this known today while signing into law, the Bauchi State Public Complaint and Anti Corruption Commission today at Bauchi Government House.
Establishing the Commission according to Mohammed, is part of his administration’s readiness to taking the advantages of the federal structure as enshrined in the Constitution that gives states the latitude to replicate functions.
He added the the Commission will no doubt help in handling local issues especially security, investigation, investigation as well as prosecution of offences being conversant with the local cultures.
Bala Mohammed said the Bauchi State Public Complaint and Anti Corruption Commission will however provide employment opportunities to youth, adding that the day marks another milestone in the drive of his administration towards strengthening transparency and accountability.
Earlier speaking, the Honorable Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman represented by his Deputy, Danlami Kawule appreciated the synergy between executives and the legislative arms of government, calling on the citizens of the state to continue to support the present administration.
Secretary of the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were present during the session.
