A statement by Zamfara APC Vanguard, said Matawalle is looking for soft landing through Senator Mafara an ally of Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar.

According to the statement, A A Yari, Senator Marafa, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare PhD, Alhaji Sagir Hamida, Engineer Ibrahim Shehu Baƙauye PhD and other Like minds are the strong pillars of APC in Zamfara, who have the support of the Majority people of the state, which led Governor Matawalle to dump his party and join the All Progressives Congress (APC) having observed that, Zamfara State is APC State.

It recalls that, after the defection of Governor Matawalle, there was an attempt to dump and silence the seasonal Politician Abdulazeez Yari, Senator Marafa, Dauda Lawan Dare PhD, Alhaji Sagir Hamida, Engineer Ibrahim Shehu Baƙauye PhD and other members of their faction, a situation that thrown the state chapter of the APC into confusion and uncertainty as the registered members of the party kicked against the planned coup to seize the leadership from real APC Members and hand it over to unregistered members.

Yobe State Governor and Chairman Caretaker and extraordinary convention committee, Mai Mala Buni has announced the dissolution of Zamfara APC Caretaker committee and subsequently announced nomination of a 3 man non card carrying members of the party who decamped recently with gov Matawalle. “Senator Marafa was reported to have instituted legal action against the irregularities and is known to be a strong minded politician with courage to state for right as his faction leader Abdulazeez Yari who have been shouldering responsibilities of the party to make strong, lively and admirable,” the statement added.
