Northeast APC Coalition Roots For Sherrif Emergence As National Chairman

All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates from the Northeast zone to next month’s national convention of the party have been counseled to support the emergence of Senator Ali Modu Sherrif as the national chairman.

According to the Coalition of North East APC Youths for Change, a political pressure group, Senator Modu Sherrif is the most qualified among the contestants to the seat to lead the party to unprecedented heights in the nation’s political psyche.

The Northeast Zonal Leader of the Coalition, Abdullahi M. Kokari (KK oil & Gas) said at a press conference in Bauchi Wednesday that delegates to the convention should close their differences to ensure that Senator Sherrif emerge as the APC National Chairman.

Abdullahi Oil and Gas expressed optimism that the coalition common stands will open new pages of discussions in the journey of restoring principles of good governance and community participatory democracy into the ruling APC which, as he puts it, depends largely on the decisions of party stakeholders and national delegates.

“We all converged to this hall today with a strong believe that our great party can be made better and our stand today will send a signal to our stakeholders to reason why Senator Modu remains the only viable candidate among his contemporaries”, the oil and gas chief said.

Alhaji Abdullahi Kokari explained that the coalition is poised to see the party develop, prosper and become the pride of the nation’s democracy, however, depending on the delegates choice of Senator Modu Sherrif as national chairman in February, 2022 APC national convention.

“As Youths and card carrying members of the ruling APC who laboured for this party since its formation in 2014, We must agree that we are the answer because we have shown Commitment and passion towards ensuring we get what belongs to us by taking action and by getting involve”.

Kokari recalled that Senator Sherrif was part of the formation of the ruling APC and has over the years garnered all the requisite experiences to make the party more relevant and important in the eyes of Nigerians particularly in reconciling the aggrieved members.

He said that Sherrif is a living Nigeria that has traveled to the length and breadth of Nigeria building the temples of peace and unity to keep his country together, moved around the country interacting with young Nigerians, as some of the many reasons why he is second to none among his contemporaries.

The group also expressed the strong believe that only Sheriff can bring the desirable changes, knowing fully that he can settle the current crisis been experience and move the party forward, adding “The future of our party is fully represented if Senator Ali Modu Sherrif become the next National Chairman”.

Group concluded, “In the face of current realities confronting our great party, We need urgently a strong, dynamic, decisive, competent and visionary leadership that can halt the current drift of the ship of the party affairs to winning ways”.
