Kebbi LG elections: APC will clinch all seats, Governor Nasir Idris assures.

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Kebbi State has held a stakeholders meeting to strengthen the unity in the party and strategies for the local Government elections
scheduled for the 31st August, 2024.

The meeting which was presided by Governor Nasir Idris, was attended by major stakeholders of the party which included the immediate past Governor of the state, now Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, former governor, Sa’idu Dakingari and former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami,SAN.

Also in attendance were the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Tanko Yusuf Sununu, former Minister for Internal Affairs, General Muhammadu Magoro,
APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu,
the Chairman, APC Kebbi State, Abubakar Kana Zuru

Others on the list were Kebbi Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, Speaker of the Assembly, Usman Muhammad Ankwe, the SSG Yakubu Bala Tafida, Head of the Civil Service, Safiyanu Garba Bena as well as stakeholders from Local Government Areas.

Stakeholders at the meeting reaffirmed their loyalty and support to Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, the Kebbi State Governor.

Shortly after the meeting, in an interview with journalists, the Leader of the Party, Governor Nasir Idris, gave an assurance that the government would conduct free, fair and credible local government elections.

“The APC is a formidable party in Kebbi State, we are confident in securing victory for all the Chairmanship seats and 225 Councillorship in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state”,

“The incumbent APC led administration has performed remarkably well in uplifting the socioeconomic wellbeing of the people, massive infrastructural development. We have upheld the trust of the electorate, it is a testimony for victory”, the Governor said.

Comrade Nasir Idris thanked the people of Kebbi for their support and loyalty to him, assuring that the administration would continue to satisfy their needs and aspirations for a better life.

“We have held fruitful meeting of stakeholders and all things are positive.

Party faithfuls have reaffirmed commitment to the protection and promotion of the ideals of the APC of enhancing the general wellbeing of the citizenry and enthroning flourishing democracy to build a decent society of peace and prosperity”, the Governor remarked.

On his part, the state APC Chairman, Abubakar Kana Zuru, commended Governor Nasir Idris for good governance and achieving excellence in projects implementation, which have endeared him into the hearts of the people of Kebbi as trustworthy, benevolent and compassionate personality.

“This indelible feat is the shining light for victory of the APC in near and future democratic elections, BY THE WILL OF GOD”,

“I am urging all party supporters and people of Kebbi State to troop out enmasse to vote for the APC in the local government elections scheduled for the 31st August, 2024, throughout the 21 Local Government Areas”, Kana said.

In separate interviews, the APC Zonal Vice Chairman, Kebbi North, Sahabi Lolo, and the Member, House of Representatives, Zuru/Fakai/Sakaba/Danko-Wasagu Constituency, Hon. Kabiru Tukura, described the forthcoming local government elections as a ‘walk over’ for the APC in view of its popularity and acceptability among Kebbi people.
