Kauran Gwandu visits Emir of Gwandu, seeks fatherly blessings

The APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, accompanied by members of the state APC campaign council, has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar to seek for his fatherly blessing for the success of the party in the 18th March, Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

In his address, the Emir of Gwandu and Chairman, Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar advised politicians and seekers of political offices to imbibe the virtues of patience, perseverance, tolerance and piety in the pursuit of their ambitions.

The traditional ruler gave the advice on Sunday at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace, Birnin Kebbi, when the APC gubernatorial candidate for the state, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu visited him to seek for his royal prayers and blessings.

The Emir recalled that Dr. Nasir Idris had visited him at the on set of his political journey to intimate him about his intention to contest for the governorship seat of Kebbi state in the spirit of father and son.

Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar remarked that as it is incumbent on any responsible parent, he prayed for God’s guidance to his son and title holder, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu.

The Emir, Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar admonished leaders and politicians at all levels to strengthen their faith in God as the Ultimate Supreme Being who gives and takes away power to and from whoever he desires.

The royal father spoke about the importance of the preservation of our cultures, traditions and norms based on respect, loyalty, compassion and the worship of God.

The Emir remarked that like all other sections of the country, Gwandu Emirate was also feeling the effect of the redesigning of the Naira policy, adding that two other challenges were the impending gubernatorial elections and the national census.

He expressed utmost belief and confidence that such challenges would be surmounted by the grace of God.

Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar was emphatic that Nigeria as one nation with the same destiny would continue to remain a united entity.

In his homage to the Emir, the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris, said he attached high respect to the esteemed traditional institution as a title holder of Kauran Gwandu.

Dr. Nasir Idris informed the Emir that he was at the palace for home coming to seek for royal prayers and blessings towards achieving the objective of becoming the Governor of Kebbi State.

The APC candidate recalled that both former Governor, Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari and the incumbent Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu visited the palace for such prayers prior to becoming Governors and were both successful.

Dr. Nasir Idris traced his professional career as a teacher who served the people of the state for thirty five years diligently promising that if elected, he would perform optimally to uplift the well-being of the citizenry.

In their separate remarks, the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru and the Deputy DG APC Campaign Council, Alhaji Abubakar Mallam, Shattiman Gwandu described the Emir as a highly respected traditional ruler nationwide, soliciting his support and prayers for the success of APC gubernatorial candidate and State Assembly candidates of the party at the polls on 18th March 2023.

In another development, non indigenes residents in Birnin Kebbi came out in their large numbers to receive the APC gubernatorial candidate and the campaign team.

The APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu and the campaign team met and interacted with them.

They expressed their support for the APC and their willingness to vote for Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu and the State House of Assembly candidates in the Saturday’s election.

Victoria James, Nasir Muhammad, Juliet Ejiofor, Rashida Muhammad and Bitrus Ayuba, who spoke on behalf of the non indigenes made several requests for the repairs of their borehole and electricity, as well as the need for empowerment support to women.

Addressing the cheering residents, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu appreciated them for the rousing welcome accorded to them.

He said as a former labour leader and one-time NUT national leader, he worked towards building a legacy of fighting for the entitlements and welfare of workers.

”If you vote Dr. Nasir Kauran Gwandu as your governor, I will initiate empowerment programmes that will reach you, women and youths .

He assured that a team of engineers would come to repair their broken borehole and promised also to laise with the Special Adviser on Electricity to address the power problem of the area

The APC guber candidate made an undisclosed financial donation to the residents.

In a similar vein, he has visited the Army Day Secondary School Birnin Kebbi,where he met a large number of APC supporters patiently waiting for him.

Dr. Nasir Idris told the gathering that his track records speaks volumes for him.

Those who spoke among the entourage included: Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, former governor of Kebbi State,campaign DG, rtd Navy Captain Zaki Mu’azu, Hon. Bello Yakubu Rilisco, Alhaji Abubakar Gari Malam, Deputy campaign DG, Alhaji Mansur Shehu, Dangaladiman Waziri and Engr. Abdullahi Muslim.

The APC campaign team afterwards visited Prison Quaters, Birnin Kebbi, Ambursa, Asarara, Gama Gira and also received decampees from the NNPP at the campaign council Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi.
