If you vote me, you will not regret your votes – Kebbi APC guber candidate

The All Progressive Congress, APC gubernatorial candidate in Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has promised to deliver requisite dividends of democracy if elected as the next governor of Kebbi State in the 2023 election.

Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu made the pledge in Kangiwa, headquarters of Arewa Local Government Area while addressing hundreds of APC supporters at Kebbi North Zonal campaign rally on Tuesday .

Multitude of APC supporters and admirers from Argungu, Augie, Arewa, Dandi, Suru and Bagudo local Government Areas thronged the venue of the rally .

He told the mammoth crowd of APC supporters that people of Kebbi State would not regret voting him and his running mate, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida to steer the affairs of the state.

Kauran Gwandu reiterated that he would run a people- oriented government that would make Kebbi people happy by embarking on tangible projects that would have significant impact on their lives.

‘ If you vote for Kaura and Tafida, you will not regret your votes, we will carry out meaningful projects for the development of the state.

‘ Our campaign is going to be issue- based, but we will not tolerate distortion of facts and lies from our opponents,” he said.

The APC gubernatorial candidate further said that his track record of service to people of Kebbi State even before he joined politics was there for all to see.

‘ My record as NUT State Chairman and National President, as a labour unionist, humanitarian assistance to the people, free medical outreach I sponsored as well as assistance to IDPS are all known by the people of Kebbi and beyond.

‘ My educational records are clear, I have worked as a civil servant for 35 years in Kebbi State, I challenge my opponent to come forward with his record of achievement to the people of Kebbi State, it is what he has done for them to change their lives for good,” he emphasized.

Responding to what the PDP gubernatorial candidate said against him, Dr. Nasir Idris said whatever position his opponent attained in the military, was premised on the education he received from the teacher.

Kauran Gwandu said he spent thirty-five years in service of his career in Kebbi state during which he helped several people to secure employment as teachers or civil servants in his capacity as chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT and the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.

He told the gathering that this was unlike his opponent who has been away from the people throughout his sojourn in the military.

Dr. Idris affirmed that voting for his candidature and all APC candidates was the right thing to do by Kebbi people.

He promised to sustain the good legacy left by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of developing all sectors of the state.

The APC gubernatorial candidate’s running mate, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida also thanked the people of Kangiwa for coming out en masse to support APC .

He reiterated the commitment of APC- led government under Kauran Gwandu,if elected, to better the lives of people in the state.

Earlier, the Kebbi State DG campaign Council for the APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, former Governor of Kebbi State expressed profound appreciation to the people of Arewa for coming out in large numbers to attend the rally .

He said the massive crowd that attended the campaign was an indication that people of Kangiwa were for APC not any other political party as being speculated .

He urged the people of the area to vote for Kauran Gwandu and all APC candidates.

‘ Think deep before you cast your votes, cast your votes for Kauran Gwandu and all APC candidates.

‘ Kauran Gwandu is a man of integrity who has served the people for 35 years. Our candidate, Kauran Gwandu is respected, accepted and loved by people ,” Dakingari said .

In their separate remarks, Dr . Hussaini Kangiwa APC Senatorial candidate for Kebbi North, Hon Garba Rabiu Kamba, APC House of Representatives candidate, Dandi/Arewa constituency and Hon. Nura Kangiwa who is the party’s candidate for the State House of Assembly Arewa constituency, all appreciated the large turn out of people at the gathering.

According to them, Arewa Local Government and beyond belongs to APC 100 per cent and not any other party.

The party Chairman of APC in Arewa local Government Area, Alhaji Sani Zamarke and the Council Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Sani Aliyu Tela Kulita berated the opposition for saying that they have dominated Kangiwa.

Kangiwa, according to them was the home base of APC and would continue to be so.

Hon Sani Aliyu Tela , the Chairman of Arewa Local Government also called on people of the area to reciprocate the good gesture of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to them in view of his developmental projects such as roads, water and empowerment particularly to women and youths.

Highlights of the activities at the campaign programme include by artistes and the commissioning of a new APC office in Kangiwa.
