Gombe Government to partner Qatar foundation for construction of solar Boreholes in rural communities

The Qatar Charity Organization is to construct one hundred and twenty solar powered boreholes with the capacity of twenty thousand litres of water in Gombe.

Gombe State governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya stated this when he hosted the country representative of Qatar Charity Organization, Sheikh Hamdi El-sayed, to a Gala Night at government house Gombe.

The Governor described the organisation as the international humanitarian body that is all out to serve and help the humanity.

He explained that the organization has also replicated same gesture in 10 local government areas of the state except Gombe who’s construction work is in the pipeline.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed the hope that citizens of the country can imbibe the spirit of reaching out to the poor and the needy in the society, describing the Qatar Charity as a humanitarian organisation who’s impact is being felt right across the nation for close to 18 years.

He appreciated the Emir of Gombe, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar lll for hosting the visiting Country Representative of the Qatar Charity alongside his team to a colourful durbar at his palace.

Earlier, the Country Representative of the Qatar Charity, Sheikh Hamdi El-sayed said for the past few days, his team had gone round to about seven local government areas of the state in company of some senior state government officials to identify areas of needs and possible intervention.

Sheikh Hamdi El-sayed, explained that Qatar Charity offers support in critical sectors such as health, education, water supply, economic empowerment, social housing, food security and emergency relief, saying the organisation will strive to ensure that Gombe ranks top among states that benefit the most in Qatar Charity intervention programmes.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya and the Emir of Gombe for the warm hospitality accorded to him and his team since arriving the state.

The highlight of the gala night was cultural performance by different groups from across the state.
