Eid-el-Fitr: Kebbi Gov. harps on peace, unity, sustaining lessons learnt

Kebbi State Govenror, Dr.Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has stressed the need for people in the state and the entire Nigeria to engage in acts strengthening permanent peace and unity in the country.

He gave the advice in his message to the people of the state and Nigeirians on the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, marking the successful end of the Ramadan fast.

Dr. Idris said that peace remained the most veritable foundation for socio-economic development in the nation, saying that without it, such development will elude the citizens.

He also called on the people to sustain fervent prayers for the prevalence of security, tranquillity and prosperity in the state and nationwide.

The Kauran Gwandu remarked that the present economic hardship in the country was not peculiar to Nigeria, assuring that appropriate measures have been taken by the relevant authorities to ease the hardship and bring the situation back to normal.

He announced that his administration, in the past ten months, has taken incisive strategies to mitigate the hardship and improve the livelihood of the people in the state.

Governor Nasir Idris reaffirmed the resolve of his administration to continue to bring succour to all communities in the state to enhance their wellbeing.

In the same vein, Dr. Idris restated that the ongoing free distribution of assorted grains as palliatives to the people of the state would be sustained in the bid to make life more easier and gainful to them.

According to him, in order to mitigate the hardship of the people of the state due to the present economic situation, Kebbi State Government has bought assorted grains of more than N12 billion and distributed free to all communities.

The gesture, he said would be a routine one aimed at improving the livelihood of all residents in the state irresepective of political or religious affinity.

On Security, Dr. Idris said his administration remained unwaveringly committed to taking any actions humanly possible to ensure that the people of the state sleep with their two eyes closed.

‘This involved the provision of logistics support to the security agencies and vigilante members such as operational vehicles and motorcycles.

”This is our utmost constitutional duty and we will never falter in diligently executing it to the best of our ability and in the fulfilment of our solemn pledge to the people.

“I am appealing to all our people to collectively work for the rapid progress of our dear state and nation to attain the objective of economic prosperity and growth of democracy “, he said.
