Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has denied claims that he would decamp from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) or any other political party, stressing that he has no such plans.
The Governor reacted to a recent social media statement from APC loyalists wherein they insinuated that he (Fintiri) would soon be decamping to the party (APC).
In a statement signed by his Director General media, Solomon Kumangar, the Governor said it became necessary to state categorically that he is not contemplating leaving the PDP.
‘The Governor believes that the political, economic and security challenges currently facing the country cannot merely be solved by people decamping from one political party to another.
He remains focused on the mandate of providing good governance to all parts of the state.
“We read with utmost dismay on the social media that His Excellency, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri is at Abuja lobbying to decamp to APC. It is not in our culture to join issues with the opposition social media warriors.
“We deem it fit to set the record straight; the Governor has embarked on a foreign trip to woo investors to the state, not at Abuja to perfect any defection plan.
How does one expect the Governor to defect to another party when he is comfortably in charge of the PDP in Adamawa state? Is moving to another party, especially the APC in Adamawa state, sitting on a time bomb is not suicidal?
Kumangar admonishes the Governor’s supporters and the PDP faithful to disregard the lies and propaganda being peddle on the social media by the opposition as such has exposed that APC in Adamawa has run of ideas and lost touch with the reality that implosion awaits it come 2023.
