Bauchi State within the week under review

Like the previous week, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has spent this week shuttling between Abuja and Bauchi, attending engagements geared towards socio-economic and political development of Bauchi State.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Lawal Muazu Bauchi , reported that on Tuesday, June 14th, Governor Bala had received in audience, former Bauchi State governor Malam (Dr) Isa Yuguda and his retinue on a courtesy visit at Bauchi Guest House, Abuja.

In another development, Senator Bala Abdulkadir had attended the meeting organized by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s Advisory Committee on selection of Vice President held at NWC Hall, Wadata Plaza Abuja.

The meeting chaired by the Party’s Deputy National Chairman (North) Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, had in attendance the National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu among other dignitaries.

On the same day, the Executive Governor returned to Bauchi to bid farewell to the first flight of the intending pilgrims of the state.

While interacting with the intending pilgrims and officials of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at Bauchi Hajj Camp, Governor Bala called on them to be good ambassadors of Nigeria before, during and after the exercise.

He reiterated his administration’s keenness to providing citizens with dividends of democracy, adding that promoting peace and unity in the state is his top priority.

Mohammed who commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), clerics and stakeholders, said the State Government would work together with them to ensure success of the 2022 Hajj.

Governor Bala called on the 1363 intending pilgrims from Bauchi State to pray for the state and Nigeria as whole adding that all internal and external preparations to ease the hardships have been made.

Responding, the State Amirul Hajj and Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farouq commended Governor Bala for the construction of the modern Hajj Camp and assured him of support their commitment for the success of the exercise.

In their separate remarks, the State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed and the Executive Secretary, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahmam Ibrahim Idris applauded Governor Bala for his efforts in making it easy for citizens and called on the intending pilgrims to reciprocate the gesture by praying for him and his administration.

On Thursday, June 16, Senator Bala returned to Abuja, alongside his colleagues, members of the PDP Governors’ Forum, to attend the caucus meeting of the Party, held at Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

The meeting which centred on issues germane to success of the part in the forthcoming 2023 elections had in attendance, the National Chairman of the Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, members of the NWC among other dignitaries.
