Bauchi State Government to Collaborate with Universiti Putra Malaysia on Renewable Energy, Waste Management, and Environmental Conservation

Bauchi State Government has expressed its willingness to partner with Universiti Putra Malaysia in various areas, including renewable energy, waste management, ecology, forestry management, and environmental utilization.

State Governor Senator Bala Muhammad made this known when he received a delegation from the Malaysian university on a courtesy call at the Government House in Bauchi.

The Governor highlighted the vast potential of Bauchi State, with millions of acres of arable land, and acknowledged the similarities between Nigeria and Asian countries in terms of population diversity, cultural heritage, and tourism potential therefore emphasized the need for collaboration to benefit all parties involved.

Earlier The Team Leader Professor Latifa Abdul Manaf, leader of the delegation, explained that Universiti Putra Malaysia is a leading institution in technology, research, and innovation in Southern Asia.

She noted that the university has identified potential areas of collaboration in Bauchi State, including its arable land, Yankari Game Reserve, and human resource development institutions like the state-owned University of Sa’adu Zungur.

According to her The proposed partnership aims to leverage the expertise of Universiti Putra Malaysia to address some of the environmental and energy challenges facing Bauchi State.

In a Remark The state Desk officer ACresal Dr. Ibrahim Kabir hinted that The collaboration is expected to yield benefits in the areas of renewable energy, waste management, and environmental conservation, ultimately contributing to the sustainable development of the state.
