Jubilation in Kebbi over victory of Gov. Idris at the court.

The Election Petition Tribunal for Kebbi State has unanimously upheld the election and declaration of Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris and Senator Umar Abubakar as the governor and deputy governor of the state respectively in the judgment delivered in Birnin Kebbi this Thursday.

Chairman of the three-member panel, Justice Ofem dismissed the petition filed by the PDP candidate, Aminu Bande for woefully failing to prove the allegations against the governor and his deputy. After detailed analysis of the allegation and evidence adduced that the deputy governor, Umar Abubakar was not qualified to contest election for presenting forge testimonial, the Tribunal dismissed such allegation as lacking in merit.

The victory of Kebbi State Governor, Comrade , Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu and his deputy, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida at Election Petition Tribunal in Birnin Kebbi has sparked up wild jubilation from people and supporters of APC in the State.

Hundreds of people and party supporters thronged Government House Birnin Kebbi, jubilating the announcement of the Election Petition Tribunal upholding the election of Comrade ,Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu as the winner of the Governorship election in the state held in March and April ,2023.

Addressing the jubilant crowd in Government House Birnin Kebbi,Governor Nasir Idris praised God for the victory,describing the verdict of the tribunal as victory not only to people of Kebbi State, but victory to democracy as destined by God through the popular will of people.

He averred ‘ From the verdict of the Tribunal, we can see that power belongs to God and only God can give it to whom He wants ,where He wants .

‘ Secondly , it has shown that people has voted for us and we must redouble our efforts to serve people with fear of God ‘ .

Governor Nasir Idris also told the crowd that with the victory at the tribunal, the journey to make Kebbi State greater and better continues.

He reiterated his earlier promise to fulfil all his campaign promises and his desire to make Birnin Kebbi, a befitting State Capital city and the pride of Kebbi people.

The Governor affirmed that his administration would not relent in carrying out developmental projects such as road construction, completion of State Secretariat at Gwadangaji while also revolutionising the health and education in the state.

Agriculture as the pride of the state as well as security would continue to receive the attention of Government to secure their lives and property.

The Governor extended his hands of friendship to the opposition to come and move Kebbi State forward.

The National Organising Secretary of APC, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu represented the National Chairman of the Party in a goodwill message said the verdict of the tribunal was a testimony of the mandate of the people given to Governor Nasir Idris to steer the affairs of the state.

Tukura , Members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Special Advisers and politicians including the immediate past Personal Assistant to the former Governor, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, Enabo were in court in solidarity with Governor Nasir Idris and his deputy, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida.
