Gov Bagudu expresses satisfaction over peaceful conduct of election in Kebbi

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu is satisfied about the large turnout of voters and the peaceful conduct of the voting process in today’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

Senator Atiku Bagudu made this known in an interview with journalists after casting his vote at his polling unit of Garkar Mai-Alelu , Nasarawa 11 , Birnin Kebbi.

The Governor added that the good conduct of voters in the electoral process was also commendable and thanked Security Agencies for doing a marvelous job to ensure peaceful atmosphere.

He acknowledged that the high level improvement introduced by INEC has also facilitated smooth conduct of the excercise.

Senator Atiku Bagudu told newsmen that he was aware of the general complaint in Kebbi State about the late arrival of election materials to polling units which delayed the commencement of the voting .

The Governor who voted at 12: 40 pm cited an example of his polling booth which started the process after four hours delay due late arrival of election materials.

Senator Atiku was confident that INEC has the power to extend the voting period if the need arises to enable all eligible voters excercise their civic rights of electing a new President of the Federal Republic, members of the Senate and the House of Representatives

The governor congratulated Nigerians for excercising their civic rights peacefully .

The wives of the Governor, Hajiya Aisha Atiku Bagudu and Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu all expressed delight with the large turn out of women at the polling units .

Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu particularly urged women and youths to be patient and law abiding as they cast their votes.

” It is a big day in the history of Nigeria, I don’t want it to pass or go without participating ‘, She averred.
