Bagudu charges facilitators to ensure credible 2023 census

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has charge facilitators and Adhoc Staff of the National Population Commission (NPC) to ensure reliable and credible Census that would be acceptable to all Nigerians.

The Governor gave the charge at the closing Ceremony of a Ten day Training of Facilitators and Special Workforce organized by the Commission held at Atiku Bagudu Junior Girls Secondary School Birnin Kebbi this Wednesday.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu commended the Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, Dr. Haliru Bala Jikandaudu and officials of the commission for ensuring smooth and successful conduct of the training, advising the Adhoc staff to use their professionalism and expertise in making the forthcoming population and housing census a successful one.

‘ You must be commended for engaging professionals from Universities and Polytechnics comprising computer scientists, veterinary doctors, social scientists and professors of mathematics for the training programme’, he said.

According to him, the approval by President Muhammadu Buhari for the conduct of National Head count scheduled for March and April, this year would go along way in ensuring unity and tolerance among Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity, creed or sectionalism

He thanked the university Dons for accepting to partake in the workshop preparatory to the formal head count, calling on them to use the lessons learn for the success of the excercise.

The Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission Dr. Haliru Bala Jikandaudu, earlier commended the state Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for supporting the commission at all times and hoped that the tempo would be maintained

He told the governor that the training was organized for 1,540 participants in three categories, 907 facilitators, 539 specialized workforce and 94 train-the-trainers.

In addition, over 30,000 indigene of Kebbi state would be engaged during the census excercise.
