A former Commissioner of Environment and also a one time local Government Chairman of Danko Wasagu local Government Area, Comrade Ishaku Daudu has formally joined the All Progressives Congress, APC from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Comrade Ishaku Daudu who was a staunch member and a prominent stakeholder of PDP in Kebbi State for over 20 years was received into the APC by the State Chairman of the the party, Abubakar Muhammad Kana Zuru, Chairman APC Elders Forum, Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro, APC Zonal Vice Chairman, Kebbi Central, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, Alhaji Abubakar Nayaya, Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, ( Enabo) Personal Assistant to the Governor who is also the State financial Secretary of APC, Hajiya Aishatu Gunabi, APC women leader, a stalwart of the APC, Alhaji Kabiru Sani(Giant) and other party executives in a colourful ceremony at the party’s Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi this Saturday.
Speaking shortly after making his declaration to join APC, Ishaku Daudu said he joined the ruling party, APC in good faith following overtures from friends and well meaning people including the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, Alhaji Musa Yaro, ( PA) Enabo and Women party supporters.
According to him, plans were under way to also sway into the APC fold local government and ward executives from PDP not only in his local government area, Danko Wasagu but the Zuru Emirate as a whole.
‘ I will sit with the party Chairman at the State level to work out how the decampees Iam bringing into APC , who are party executives from local Government and ward level be accommodated into the APC’.
‘ I can assure you that PDP is dead in Zuru, PDP knows my worth and what I can do ‘, he averred.
Another decampee from the PDP who came along with Ishaku Daudu , Kabiru Adamu Bena, popularly known as ‘ Kwatara’, until now PDP House of Assembly candidate for Danko Wasagu East and a three time councilor in the area attributed his defection to APC because of the resilience of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to curb the problem of insecurity in Danko Wasagu local Government Area.
He said the governor had ensured that no territory is in the control of the bandits who have been terrorising the area.
‘ Governor Bagudu’s effort in mobilizing constant presence of security personnel in our area is unprecedented to secure our people from the activities of bad elements ‘, he said.
Speaking separately, the Chairman APC Elders Forum Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro and Alhaji Musa Yaro, Enabo, Personal Assistant to the Governor as well as the Chairman of Arewa local Government, Hon Sani Aliyu Tela, (Kulita) all commended the foresight and decision of the decampees, particularly Ishaku Daudu to join APC .
Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro while welcoming the decampees into the party , urged the remaining PDP leaders and their followers to also come and join the ruling APC.
He declared that governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has performed creditably well to better the lives of Kebbi people in many ramifications.
In the same vein, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, PA, Personal Assistant to the Governor praised the former Commissioner, Ishaku Daudu for joining the APC.
He described him as an honest and gentle personality who tirelessly carry his people along irrespective of their religious or ethnic leaning.
Enabo promised to work assiduously for the success of all APC candidates in the 2023 general election and appealed to all stakeholders of the party to tighten their belts for the task ahead.
He said the CON award and the recent Public Sector award presented to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in Agriculture and Food Security from President Muhammadu Buhari was a clear testimony of good governance.
Earlier, the State Party Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana while ushering the decampees into the party, assured them of equal treatment and respect in the party.
He said henceforth, they would be fully accommodated in the party’s activities at all levels.
