The Emir of Zazzau,Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli has raised serious concern on the Persistent level of Attacks carried out by armed bandits in the Emirate and the state as a whole.

He called for more deployment of troops to enhance maximum security of lives and property of citizens in the area.

The Emir made the expression when the Kaduna state Commissioner of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Samuel Aruwan led a Security delegation on a confidence building visit to the Emirate palace in Zaria.

Mallam Ahmed Bamalli said the increasing rate of banditry activities in the Emirate and the state in general is becoming so alarming with Gunmen striking the ancient city of zaria almost on daily basis in the last one week.

He said the attacks have persisted and is widely spreading to most parts of the Emirate.

“It is disheartening that a hospital can be raised and a Medical Doctor kidnapped. While a District Head who is leader can be subjected to attacks and his family kidnapped.

“You are also aware that a student was shot dead while two lecturers and about 10 students were kidnapped in Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria all within one week,” he recalled.

The Emir said more deployment of troops become highly imperative considering the strategic importance of Zaria which serves as a gateway to people in the North West.

Bamalli however, appreciated the efforts of both federal and Kaduna state governments in converting the menace but called for more stringent measures to safe guard the lives of the people.

“With all the number of Military, Airforce and Police Formations in the state,it is worrisome that such level of insecurity could persist.

“I therefore appeal for more concerted efforts in addressing the ugly trend,” the Emir urged.

Earlier, the Kaduna state Commissioner of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Samuel Aruwan said they were at the palace to commissirate with the Emir over recent activities of Gunmen in the Emirate and also build confidence on people that government and all security personnel would continue to protect the lives and property of the citizens.
