Youth must emulate good virtues of past leaders to bring the needed change – Bello Kirfi

A Former Minister of state for Foreign Affairs in the second Republic Alh.Muhammad Bello Kirfi has charged Youths in the Nigeria to emulate good virtues of the past leaders who served the country with sacrifice and patriotism for things to change for the better.

He gave the challenge at the Maitama Sule leadership lecture series organised by coalition of Northern Groups held at Bauchi.

Alh. Bello Kirfi who is also the wazirin Bauchi described youths as a mirror of every society that can play a vital role in changing the negative narrative of leadership by some unpatriotic citizens who lack interest of the country at heart.

He attributed the socio economic development recorded since independence to the foundation laid by our fallen heroes such as the late premier of the Northern region Ahmadu Bello and others who do not consider any material gains as a priority in serving the country.

In a key note address, Former Bauchi state chairman Nigeria Labour Congress com.Abdullahi Koli identified some factors responsible for bad leadership in the country to include ethno religious differences, corruption and insecurity among others.

Com.Abdullahi Koli called on people to embark on fervent prayers for the country to overcome it’s numerous challenges.

To this end, the Director New Media SW Comrade Muhammad Bello Aliyu, said that the main reason for the lecture series is to reshape the minds of young Nigerians towards them being engage in to politics and other activities and to utilize them to imbibe the good characters of the past leaders.

The theme for the Maitama Sule lecture series was competent leadership is the only effective remedy to Nigeria’s unending ailments.
