As part of comprehensive plan to commence enrolment into the informal sector programme of contributory health scheme, YSCHMA today Saturday 5th March 2022 flag off a month-long enrolment campaign with KEKE NAPEP RIDERS’ ASSOCIATION using strategic and targeted public messaging.
The mass campaign in addition to other engagement recently held by the agency are intended to serve as a major enrolment awareness toward achieving universal health coverage in the state. This effort is aimed to increase ACCESS to AFFORDABLE and QUALITATIVE healthcare among the population.
The informal sector programme in Yobe State will target SELF-EMPLOYED groups in the state that include; Market association (Yobe state organised traders association), Association of commercial cyclist riders, NURTW, All Farmers Associations, Cattle breeders association – Miyetti Allah, Association of vulcanizers and Mechanics, Yobe Tailoring and fashion design Association, Association of GSM Phone repairs, Butchers Association, Fish sellers’ association, market women association, organized Civil Society Organisations, etc.
In his opening remark, the Executive Secretary of YSCHMA Dr Babagana Tijjani described the informal sector programme as one among the health sector priority agenda for His Excellency the Executive Governor Hon Mai Mala Buni that will ensure SELF-EMPLOYED groups in the state are provided with affordable and qualitative healthcare under the current contributory healthcare arrangement of Yobe State Government.
The Executive Secretary further said this is a confirmation of genuine commitment of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon Mai Mala Buni in providing people centred healthcare services delivery and building a more sustainable healthcare financing mechanisms by ensuring that all individuals and communities receive the health services they need without suffering financial hardship.
Therefore, he strongly advocates for all stakeholders and political leaders to support the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency programmes towards successful informal programme enrolment and attainment of universal health coverage in the state.
