Yobe Non-formal Learning Centres Get Learning Kits & Materials

A number of 3, 575 learners across three Local Government Areas of Bade, Geidam and Jakusko benefitted from the distribution of non-sensitive centre requirements and learning kits to 73 Non-formal Learning Centres in Yobe state.

Yobe Peace & Community’ Development Initiative (YOPCODI) said that the initiative is aimed at enhancing the educational experience of learners in these areas.

A statement by Abdulrazak Yakubu, Communications Officer YOPCODI yesterday, said the distribution flag-off for Bade LGA was weekend held at Zango Primary School where each learner received a kit comprising a branded backpack, six branded 40-leaf notebooks, two pencils, two erasers, two sharpeners, one pack of crayons, and one water bottle.

Yakubu added that, “We want to use this medium to appreciate our Funders UN-OCHA Nigeria Humanatarian Fund (NHF).”

Malam Abdullahi Audu, representing the Local Education Authority, expressed his gratitude to YOPCODI and its partners for their unwavering support, saying “We are deeply appreciative of this generous gesture which will significantly aid our students in their educational journey”.

A representative of the community, Malam Manniru Umar expressed their excitement and assured of making the best use of the facilities
given to them

Umar commended YOPCODI for its commitment to the provision of quality education and necessary resources to learners in need, and thanked all partners and stakeholders who have contributed to this impactful initiative.

He expressed delight that YOPCODI is dedicated to supporting and empowering communities through the provision of qualitative education to the younger ones.

The representative also spoke about the Initiative’s resolve for community policing to protect lives and property, as well as peace building.

The community leader also expressed gratitude for healthcare service delivery in the areas of WASH, Health nutrition, Youth and Women Empowerment, livelihood, and gender social inclusion.
