Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has vowed to ensure the protection of the lives and properties of the people of the State at all costs.

”We will leave no stone unturned in changing the negative security narratives in parts of the state, especially Zuru Emirate.

”We will do everything within our powers and resources to ensure that the citizens of the state sleep with their two eyes closed,,” the Kauran Gwndu added.

Dr Idris spoke on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi when Emir of Zuru, retired Major General Muhammad Sani Sami, Gomo II led a high-powered delegation consisting of chiefdoms, traditional title holders, religious leaders, politicians and top Government functionaries of the Emirate on a congratulatory visit to the governor at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

The Kauran Gwandu said:” The people of the Emirate are very hardworking and very resilient and their farming and trading activities have been badly affected by the obnoxious security challenges.

” We will take all the measures urgently needed to restore that lost glory and for the people to bounce back again.

”These measures include the deployment of more security personnel and more logistics to redress the ugly trend.”

Dr Idris noted that he was now the Governor for all the people of the state, saying, ” I have forgiven even those who have not voted for me and i will work for all.”

The Kauran Gwandu also promised to run an open door administration that will always consult the traditional rulers before embarking on any project.

”This is to ensure that we implement projects, policies and programs in line with the actual yearnings and aspirations of the entire people of the state.

The Emir of Zuru, retired Major Genetal Muhammad Sani Sami, Gomo II had earlier told the governor that the visit was to facilitate him on the well deserved victory at the polls and his eventual successful inauguration.

”We have the belief that you will deploy your wealth of experience to ensure the equitable distribution of infrastructural development to all parts of the state,” he added.

The Emir urged the governor to address the security challenging facing some parts of his Emirate and redress the problem of bad roads in the area.
