WARRAH BOAT MISHAP: Senate condoles with victims, people of Kebbi State

A high powered delegation from the Senate was at the Government House Birnin Kebbi this Friday to condole with the people and government of Kebbi State on the fatal boat accident at Warrah, Ngaski Local Government.

The delegation was led by the former Kebbi State Governor and incumbent Senator Representing Kebbi Central and Chairman Senate Committee on Works, Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero.

He told his host that the Senate was saddened by the incident and on behalf of the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawal and entire Senators, sympathized deeply with the families of the victims, praying Allah to forestall future occurrence.

Senator Aliero said before now, he has visited Warrah and Yauri on personal condolence to the people.

He announced a collective donation of Ten Million Naira by Senators to be presented to the Emir of Yauri aimed at assisting bereaved families. While Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah made a personal donation of one million naira.

In his contribution, the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Uzo Orji Kalu said the Senate adopted the motion tabled by Senator Leader, Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi to condole with the people of Kebbi State and tasking relevant authorities to removing obstacles impeding safe marine transportation.

Responding, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed gratitude to the Senate for the condolence visit and cash donation to the people of Warrah involved in the mishap.

He affirmed commitment to partnering with the Federal Government on ensuring safe inland waterways.

The delegation include; Senate Leader, Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi Mallamawan Kabi, Chairman Senate Committee on Airforce, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Chairman Senate Committee on Budget and Senator Sabi Abdullahi, Deputy Senate Chief Whip.
