Suspected drug addict stabs, Kills a man over stolen animal feed in Zaria

A 35years old Hashimu Surajo a father of 3 of Kamfanin Saye in Zaria Local Government area of Kaduna State was stabbed to death by one Yusuf Yahaya Magaji of the same community.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at about 8.30pm when Yusuf Yahaya Magaji met the deceased in his resident and stabbed him twice in his stomach.

The suspect was said to have developed a enormity with the deceased because he caught him three times when he stole his animal feeds and he was asked to return them through the intervention of their Mai Anguwa.

Yusuf the suspect did not stop but he still went to the Cassava farm of the late Hashimu situated at his home backyard and his wife saw him and alert the community.

As luck is not on his side to take what is not belong to him, he openly promised to eliminate Hashimu and his wife.

In order to accomplished his devil mission the suspect Yusuf Yahaya Magaji went to Late Hashimu house around 8.30pm on Wednesday and accomplished his devilish mission by stabbing him twice and left him lying in blood.

Luck run out of him as members of the Vigilantes chased him and arrested him they bring him back to the community where he confessed of what he did and they handed him over to the Saye Divisional Police headquarters.

Despite efforts to save the life of Hashimu at hospital by the family but it is too late as Hashimu gave off on Thursday night and he was buried according to Islamic rites on Friday at about 9.30am.

At the time of filling this report the suspect is still in Police custody at Saye Divisional Police headquarters.

Our correspondent who visit the family house of the deceased saw hundreds of symphatizers and mourners gathered to register their condolences.

Some members of the community have called on the security agencies to come to their rescue as they are under threats by some drug guided youths in the area.

The communities attributed the incident to drug abuse by some youths who always bows to kill persons they have disagreement with.

All efforts to hear from the PPRO Kaduna State Command failed as he didn’t pick up several calls on his mobile phone for confirmations on the occurrence of the incident.
