The Coalition of Northern APC Groups has urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the President Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to zone the speakership of the house representatives in the 10th National Assembly to North-Central geopolitical zone of the country.

Addressing a press conference in Maiduguri on Saturday, the national convener of the group Hon Adamu m Abdullahi said that heeding the call promote equity and also reflect the federal character principle of the country.

This press conference lead by the Coalition of Northern APC Groups on the candidature of a Visionary Leader, transformational Agent, Patriotic, Unifying factor, Shrewd administrator, a Problem Solver and a parliamentarian of repute in person of Rt, Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Honorable member representing Pankshin/Kanke and Kanam federal Constituency.

Adamu Abdullahi said, as a critical stakeholders in the democratic experience in Nigeria, wishes to place on record that taking Nigeria out of the doldrums requires the enthronement of competence, credibility, and expertise above ethnic or religious considerations.

He added that, there is also the need for the Speaker to be a bridge builder regardless of party affiliations to complement the efforts of the executive arm of government in the mundane task of formulating and enacting laws that would be beneficial to sustainable growth and development in the country.

“As a committed and dedicated APC members that have served at the grassroots level, we have settled for Rt, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi as the best man for the job after consulting widely and extremely on the caliber of high-ranking kings, Pastors, Sheikhs and critics from Northwest and Northeast and they assure us their mandate” Adamu Said.

The coalition’s endorsement of Rt, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi was borne out of extensive scrutiny of the returning legislator’s pedigree, capacity, and leadership qualities, the task before us is enormous, and Nigeria deserves leaders who are in tune with reality and have a high responsibility to pilot the country’s affairs.

We call on other well-meaning groups and individuals to extend their support to the candidature of Rt, Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi for the Speakership of the 10th Assembly. He has a rich pedigree; he is a progressive, and tailor-made for the job, he is a firm believer in a strong and united Nigeria.

“As we all know The ruling party has not decided on the zoning of the leadership of the 10th assembly despite mounting lobbying by politicians and interest groups”.

“So We are sending a passionate appeal to the leadership of the APC to ensure that the speakership of the 10th assembly is zoned to the north-central region. Our appeal also goes to other political parties to see why the north-central region should be endorsed for the speakership position”

“In light of the prevailing circumstances, we wish to put forward the candidature of Rt, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gadi as the preferred candidate for the speakership of the 10th Assembly due to his towering credentials and experience as a well-rounded legislator.”

We must also admit that the Nigeria of our dream is possible when leaders with a national outlook are elected to represent the people at strategic levels. This much Rt, Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi epitomizes.

Adamu Said that they have extolled Rt, Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi for the dividends of democracy in his Constituency, his resounding achievements in Security, Infrastructural and human development, fiscal discipline, economic growth, education, health, agriculture, industry, public works, utilities, transport, poverty alleviation and other sectors of service delivery are visible to all.
