Sallah: Gov. Idris harps on sustained prayers, unity, respect for authorities

As the Muslim Ummah across the globe are celebrating the Eid-el-Kabir, Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has called on the people to sustain fervent prayers for lasting peace and unity to the state and Nigeria in general.

The Governor made the call in his message to the people of Kebbi State in commemoration of the Eid-el-Adha.

Accoroding to the Kauran Gwandu, such fervent prayers should also be focused on the need for divine intervention in the affairs of the state and Nigeria in general.

“We also need to pray for the even socio-economic development of our own dear state and the nation.

“We are also fully committed to consolidating our myriad of achievements recorded in the last one year.

“We will remain unwaveringly committed to fulfling our own side social contract with the poople of Kebbi State.

“Our modest achievents recorded so far would not have been possible without the routine support and prayers from all the cross sections of the people of the state.

“While fully recommiting myself and my APC-led govenrment, I am urging the good people of the state who have remained reliable pillars and partners to our own course of taking the state to greater heights not to relent,” the govenror added.

Dr. Idris also appealed to the pilgrims from the state and Nigeria at large to intensify personal prayers, prayers for their families, state and Nigeria in general.

He said that the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are most auspicious for pungent prayers, saying , “myself and all pilgrims will especially leverage the Arafat day for such prayers.”

The governor who is currently on holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, appreciated the support and cooperation of people of Kebbi State to his administration, pledging to rededicate himself towards developing the State and making life better for the good people of Kebbi State.
