The Nigerian-based Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD), has called for a truce between Russia and Ukraine advising Russia to withdraw military invasion against Ukraine while Ukraine should not engage in any activity that will pose threat to Russia.

Chief Dickson Omoregie, Executive Director of the institute made the call in a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja and frowned at the discrimination displayed by the Ukrainians who were resisting blacks from entering the bus,

Omoregie also appealed to the UN to mediate in the conflict adopting a nonviolent approach especially now that the world has not recovered from the pandemic that is ravaging the whole world.

He regretted that the military approach was capable of escalating the situation into another Third World War.

The executive director noted that any global chaos would cause untold socio-economic hardship on people across the globe.

The ICD has frowned at the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, adding that there is nothing better than democracy.

“We stand, the bastion of democracy, freedom, and liberty”.
