Over twenty thousand residents of Bauchi State have benefited from the Ramadan rice distribution exercise carried out by Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, a Bauchi-based non-governmental organization.
The foundation’s Programme Manager, Ango Mustapha, revealed that the beneficiaries, mostly less privileged and poorest of the poor in the communities, received food items and non-food materials as part of the intervention.
According to Mustapha, the Ramadan support programme was guided by the principles and values of the foundation’s Chairman and Founder, Dr. Bala Wunti, which include compassion, generosity, and social responsibility aimed to provide sustainable interventions that improve lives, foster unity, and promote development.
He added that As part of its annual Ramadan Support Programme, the foundation implemented several impactful initiatives to ensure that the less privileged and fasting Muslims in Bauchi State experience the blessings of Ramadan with dignity and ease.
Mustapha Ango opined that One of the initiatives was the distribution of over 20,000 bags of rice across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Bauchi State.
Additionally, the foundation provided over 3,000 cooked meals daily to fasting Muslims in various communities across Bauchi, offering nourishment to those in need and fostering a spirit of communal support.
The foundation also provided opportunities for over 200 children to participate in Quran recitation at the Eid ground during Ramadan. This initiative encouraged young Muslims to deepen their connection with the Holy Quran while also providing food for them and other members of the Muslim ummah around the filin idi community.
