Politics Not A Do Or Die Affair, Let’s Not Be Divided – Governor Bala Sympathizes With Duguri Victims

Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has described political thuggery as an aspect of social violence which razes the hard-earned peace and unity of Bauchi and Nigeria.

Mohammed who spoke from his hometown, Duguri in Alkaleri local government area of the state during a sympathy and condolences visit to the family of the victims of the recent shootings during the APC gubernatorial campaign which claimed a life, leaving many injured.

Mohammed said political ambitions of any individual or group shall not be interfere nor sabotage the state’s peace and security, adding that accent of every candidate or political party shall be compatibility, unity and tranquility of the state.

He said measures have been taken to arrest the situation as his administration in collaboration with security agencies are working hard to ensure political thuggery is eliminated for the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming election and beyond.

Governor Bala while extending condolences and sympathy to the families, called on citizens to exercise their franchise peacefully without participating in any activity that will sabotage the security of lives and properties.

Anybody, he added found guilty of victimising, terrorising, intimidating or injuring innocent individuals before, during or after the forthcoming election will be dealt with decisively to serve as deterrent to others.

He called on politicians to respect and condone critics and differences in addition to abiding by the recently signed Peace Accord for the developmental parties, Bauchi state and Nigeria as whole.
