A five day capacity building training on Basic Emergency care has commenced in Bauchi for Emergency care providers as well as other technical workforce of the healthcare services.
The exercise which is also holding across the six Northeastern states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe is sponsored by Northeast development commission NEDC in collaboration with Federal Ministry of health and other partners.
Speaking during the commencement of the exercise, Bauchi State Coordinator, Northeast development commission who was represented by Mr. Abdulkadir YM Baba said the move was aimed at strengthening emergency care response in the state being the main gate to the region.
In his address, Chairman, Medical Advisory committee, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi Dr, Haruna Usman Liman stated that such training becomes paramount as the region continue to recover from decades of insurgency.
He charged the participants to step down the knowledge and experience of the training to their units for an improved emergency and global standard.
Also remarking, Training facilitator, Dr. Ibrahim Sabo cited that the basic emergency training course was initiated by the world health Organization to redesign the methods to emergencies in the world.
our correspondent learnt that the participants were drawn from Departments of internal medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Pharmacy as well as consultant medical doctors.
