NMA Conducts Free Medical Outreach In Bauchi, Targets 2,000 Beneficiaries

As part of the activities to mark the 2023 Annual General Meeting of the association, the Bauchi State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has conducted a free medical care in Yelwan Duguri Village, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The Medical outreach is aimed at rendering free medical services to about 2,000 persons from the community as part of the co-operate social responsibility of the Nigerian Medical Association, Bauchi State chapter.

The Secretary of the Association Dr. Abdullahi Muhammad Kabir, Said the outreach is part of the activities in the Annual General Meeting of the NMA.

According to him, patients were diagnosed with different diseases and they were given treatment accordingly.

“There is very good mobilization of patients our target was to see about thousand of patients but you can see for what happen they are almost two thousand patient, and we have seen patient from all various speciality.

“We have chosen Yalwan Duguri because is a rural area and is a type of place we want, some people leaving in such areas can’t afford to go to the hospital, also it is the home town of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, and our association wants to show appreciation to the governor on the good deeds he is doing in Bauchi State.

 

Dr. Abdullahi Use the medium to commend Members of the Nigerian Medical Association. Bauchi State chapter, for their contribution towards the success of the outreach, and others that contributed in one we or the other.

In his remake the District head of Yalwan Duguri, Alh. Ibrahim Y.M Baba, thanked NMA for chosen Yalwan Duguri to benefit from the free medical services, which according to his comes at the right time do to the current hardship situation in the country and he pray that Allah’s mercy and blessings would always be on them.

Some of the beneficiary interviewed express their joy for having free medical care as they can’t afford it before.

60 Doctors, 10 Pharmacist, Nurses, medical laboratory scientist, medical Records from within and outside Bauchi State are among the those conducted the medical outreach
