Nigerian Army places high premium on training and empowerment of its personal – GOC

The General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army Ma.j Gen. Olufemi Oluyede has stated that the Nigerian Army being a forward looking entity places a high premium on the training and empowerment of its personnel with requisite skills to deal with the changing dynamics in the current operating environment.

The General Officer Commanding who was represented by Brig Gen BS Adetoro made this known during the Opening Ceremony of A 5- Day Lecture on Leadership Awareness and Development Course for SNCOs of the Nigerian Army and other Security Agencies which was organized by Nigerian Army Resource Centre in collaboration with GOTNI Leadership Centre at Python Officers Mess, Port Harcourt Barracks.

He further stated that the objective of the course is to improve virtual thinking and sound decision making ability in a dynamic environment in line with the vision of the COAS which is “To have a professional Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environment in defense of Nigeria”.

Giving his remarks, the Director General NARC who was represented by the Executive Director Consult Maj Gen JGK Myam enjoined participants take the course seriously, pay attention to the teachings as well as leave an open mind to learn new things.

Present at the event were the Rep of the Director General Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Resource persons and participants form Nigerian Army and other Security Agencies.

Highlights of the events were Lectures by Resource Persons, presentation of souvenirs and group photograph.
