NEDC trains scavengers on Stove production from domestic waste

North East Development Commission has organised a week training For Artisans and scavengers on Fabrication of efficient stove and Briquette Production from Agricultural Domestic waste in the zone.

Declaring the workshop open in Bauchi, the managing Director of the commission Muhd G Alkali represented by Head of Environmental and Natural resources Coordinator, Mr Adamu Lawal noted that, the commission embarked on various programs with a view to alleviate the suffering being faced by the people of the zone as a result of the activities of insurgency.

According to him, the participants were five from each state of the zone and at end they are expected to receive a stater park to empower themselves.

He therefore called on them to complement the effort of the commission by properly utililize the avenue to improve their economic status.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Muhd Muhd from Adamawa state promised to utilise the opportunity and thanked the commission for the gesture
