Man in Police custody for beating his wife to death

The Adamawa State Police Command, On 6/5/2023 apprehended a 56years old man,for beating his 38 years old acclaimed wife to death.

The suspect Aminu Abubakar, a resident of Lelewaji, Shagari phase 2, in Yola South Local Government Area Subdued the deceased Nana Fadimatu to a beaten following a little disagreement that ensued between them when he hard that the deceased is going to marry a new Husband the next day.

Angered by that information, the Suspect furiously engaged her on 5/5/2023 at about 10pm, applied force on her by hitting her with Hard Object as a result of which she fell down unconscious and was later announced dead.

The Suspect was apprehended by the Police in Shagari Divisional Police Headquarters following report received from the awaiting Husband Mahmud Rufai of Shagari Annex, Yola South Local Government Area.

Investigation so far reveals that the Suspect being a Manager of Anasam table Water at Jambutu 50 Housing had one (1) child with the deceased after 9years of their marriage.

The Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola while expressing Shock Commended DPO Shagari for arresting and making it impossible for the Suspect to escape Justice.

Meanwhile, as part of effort at tackling Criminal activities and other related offences in the state, the CP , has deployed officers from Anti- Homicide unit, attached to State CID to takeover investigation and ensure law takes it course. He equally calls on people to always report people of suspicious character around their neighbourhoods to police.
