Labour Unions Praise Bauchi Government For Accepting Their Demands.

The organized Labour, under the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has commended Bauchi State Governor Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for acceding to the demand of workers in the State.

The commendation was made by the Bauchi State NLC Chairman Comr. Dauda M. Shuaibu and the TUC Chairman Bauchi State, Sabiu Barau Ningi in a press statement issued to Newsmen in Bauchi.

The organized Labour, said Governor Bala Mohammed has made Service-wide tenure elongation of 65 years of age of Service for all workers in the state civil service and approved salary relativity between the office of the permanent Secretary and Director to curb competition in the post of permanent Secretary.

The statement further said ” His Excellency’s commitment to the allocation of sizeable number of Houses at a subsidized rate to the workers of Bauchi State in the current development of mass housing scheme embarked upon by the administration”

“The declaration was made by his excllency in his recent interaction with the leadership of the organized Labour and NUT coordinated by the Head of Civil Service”.

The organized labour also appreciates the effort of Office of the Head of Civil Service under the leadership of Alh. Yahuza Adamu, for putting the Workers’ welfare and agenda at the front burner among other competing priorities of Government.
