Kebbi Govt awards N5.67bn contract for dualization of Birnin Kebbi- Argungu road

The Kebbi State government has awarded N5.67 billion contract for the dualization of Birnin Kebbi- Argungu road in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Abubakar Chika-Ladan, made the disclosure on Friday in Birnin Kebbi at the signing of the contract agreement with Habibu Engineering Nigeria Limited.

“We are here to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the road contract awarded by Gov. Atiku Bagudu of the State for the dualization of some portion of Birnin Kebbi- Argungu road.

” The road is from NNPC mega station in Birnin Kebbi up to the junction to Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Ambursa area along Birnin Kebbi- Argungu road.

“The project is eight kilometer road and is expected to be completed within 12 months” he said.

Chika-Ladan said the road project was an indication of the commitment of the incumbent administration to uplift the well being of the people of the state.

“When the project is completed, it will ease transportation problems faced by the people coming to the state capital, especially as the state is developing ,and will also give the capital a befitting face.

“Much as we want to do much, we also have to share the development across the state.

“We have touched all parts of the state as there is no single local government area that we have not constructed a road or two.

He also urged the company to adhere to the contractual agreement, saying the company was known for its prompt execution of projects even prior to the time specification.

In his remarks, Ammar Nouri, the General Manager of the company, assured that the project would be executed on schedule according to the specification.

He also thanked the Government for patronising the company.
