Kebbi Gov stresses importance of commercial motorcycle, tricycle operators to Nigeria’s economy

The Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has acknowledged the importance of commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators to the transportation sector and the nations economy.

Bagudu further urged the operators to adhere to rules and regulations guiding the affairs of their union .

The governor made the statement at the stakeholdes’ summit organized by Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and motorcycle owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria held in Abuja this Friday.

He called on them to register themselves with relevant authorities so that they can be identified as genuine business operators.

‘ I urged them to register themselves even organizing themselves to be identified because some criminals are taking advantage of the business or equipment that is predominantly for them ‘, he averred.

Also during the summit, other concerned stakeholders in the transportation industry called for the digitalization and regulation of the commercial activities of tricycle and motorcycle owners in Nigeria.

Theme of the ACOMORAN annual strategic stakeholders summit is tagged; ‘ Mutually beneficial integration of Motorcycles and tricycles into public transportation system in Nigeria: The harmless approach’.

The Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi delivered a speech at the ACOMORAN summit.
