Kebbi Gov. reiterates commitment to open door policy, judicious use of resources

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has outlined the cardinal principles and policy thrust of his administration premised on service to the people.

Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris reeled out the list of judicious use of resources, creation of jobs, empowerment of people through agriculture and execution of projects that have direct bearing on the populace.

Furthermore, the incumbent administration would join hands with influential persons of Kebbi state origin at the National level to secure resources for reinvestment in the state to facilitate economic prosperity.

Governor Nasir Idris made this known at a reception (Walima) organized in his honour by APC support group, Nasarawa Two Ward, Birnin Kebbi, to rejoice with him on his victory at the polls and successful inauguration as executive governor held at the Presidential Lodge, Saturday night.

Comrade Kauran Gwandu added that as an educationist to the core, he has placed optimal premium on educational development of Kebbi state from basic education to tertiary level.

In addition, necessary focus would be directed at the execution of physical and legacy projects, promising to complete the construction of the state secretariat at Gwadangaji and subsequently put to use.

Dr. Nasir Idris said already the government has made contact with CGC and Habib Engineering to submit survey report on the asphalting of the road from Gwadangaji round about passing through Rima round about and extending to the round about along Kalgo road.

He said contract for the project would be awarded with immediate effect after the necessary procedure.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to operate an open door administration receptive to advice, suggestions and constructive criticisms.

Dr. Nasir Idris made it clear that already, the incumbent government has set the ball running by embarking on civil service reform and has begun the process of constituting the cabinet, appointment of Special Advisers as well as boards of Commissions, Parastatals and Agencies.

Dr. Nasir Idris expressed happiness about the reception in his honour, describing himself as the most happiest person to be hosted to such important event by his people of Nassarawa Two Ward, Birnin Kebbi.

He acknowledged that the ward has produced two consecutive governors, the only ward in the country to do so, in the persons of the immediate past governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and now himself.

Dr. Nasir Idris commended the people of the ward and Kebbi state, especially APC family, for trooping out to elect candidates of their choice during the last elections, promising to uphold the confidence reposed on him.

Earlier, the Chairman of the APC Support Group, Alhaji Mansur Shehu, Dangaladiman Wazirin Gwandu, expressed delight that Nassarawa Two Ward has become unique in Nigeria by producing two executive governors of the state consecutively, Atiku Bagudu and Kauran Gwandu.

Alhaji Mansur Shehu described Dr. Nasir Idris as a precious gem, a builder in Kebbi politics and as an inspirational leader who has earned respect at state and national levels.

He appealed to the governor to strengthen the efficacy of the APC at ward, local government and state levels, by making party politics to become attractive with reward mechanism.

Alhaji Mansur Shehu advised Dr. Nasir Idris to forgive his foes and presented a plaque to him as Nassarawa Two inspirational leadership award to motivate youth appreciate and imbibe his lifestyle of society oriented development.

In a word of wisdom, the Waziri of Gwandu, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar reminded Governor Nasir Idris about the difficulty and burden of leadership.

The Wazirin Gwandu spoke about the importance of Governor Nasir Idris to uphold the agricultural legacy established by his predecessor, adding that as a professional teacher, the governor must also place priority on the development of the educational sector.

Similarly, an Islamic cleric, Mallam Umar Isa, advised Dr. Nasir Idris to always sift information before action to guard against mischief makers.

Malam Umar Isa further advised him to fulfill his campaign promises to the people while the followership should always pray for the success of their leaders.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mallam Yahaya Sarki delivered the votes of thank on the occasion, which was attended by the State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafidan Yauri, Dr. Haliru Bala Jikan Daudu and other important personalities.
