Kebbi celebrates this year’s children’s Day

Children’s Day is celebrated on the 27th of May every year globally to emphasize the need for the protection of the rights and previleges of children to quality education and development.

Universal Children’s Day was established by the United Nations in 1954.

It was not until November 20, 1959 that the UN General Assembly adopted an extended form of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

The Kebbi State Government , under the abled leadership of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu joined the rest of the world in celebrating Children’s Day .

The Government has re-emphasized that children must be given the major requisite for normal development through sound education, quality healthcare, good feeding.

Bagudu also said thst the child must be put in a position to earn a livelihood and must be protected against every form of exploitation.

It is one of the cardinal principles of the administration of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu children in the state deserve the best and a safe environment where they can grow, interact with friends and emerge as successful leaders in different fields of endeavour.

Kebbi State Government has invested enormous resources in improving the education sector by constructing new schools, provision of learning materials, feeding and affordable health care particularly to children.

This is in order to ensure healthy living and growth.

On the occasion of this year’s Children’s Day, Governor Bagudu has pledged his administration’s commitment to continue to work hard to ensure that every child is protected and his rights are respected within the ambits of the law.

On the protection of children, the wife of the Governor , Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu spearheaded the campaign with NGOs and civil societies groups which led to the successful passage of the bill on child rights act and violence against women and children.
