Katsina Gov. Spends N306 Million to strengthen education

Katsina State Government has spent over three hundred and six million naira (N306) for the procurement of Science Materials / equipments to 100 Senior Secondary Schools across the State.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education Associate Professor Badamasi Lawal today disclosed this during the presentation of the equipments to benefiting schools at the premises of Hassu Iro Inko Government Girl’s College (Junior ) Katsina.

The Commissioner also disclosed that, under the leadership of the Executive Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari (CFR) from inception to date it has now become a yearly event to distribute science materials to Schools.

He added that even last year, in 2020 the State Government procured science /technical and home economics materials worth over three hundred million Naira ( N300 million ) which were distributed to one hundred and thirty senior secondary schools across the State.

The Commissioner thanked Governor Aminu Bello Masari for always granting the requests made by the Ministry and urged the principals and teachers to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring that students benefited from the materials and other instructional items available in their schools for more academic success.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Alhaji Musa Abdu Dankama called on the principals to avoid keeping the equipments without proper utilisation.

He also advised them to ensure that students are using the materials during practicals.

The Principal Hassu Iro Inko Government Girl’s College Senior, Hajiya Rabi Ako expressed their happiness and gratitude for the timely gesture and promised to utilise the equipments for better teaching andlearning in their respective schools.

In his closing remarks the Katsina Zonal Education Quality Assurance Coordinator Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar Unguwar Yari thanked the Honourable Commissioner for having time to grace the occasion and prayed for safe return back home.
