In a bid to provide educational opportunities to underprivileged children, Mahmud Lawal Bola’ige, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Zaria City constituency, has launched the second program under the “Save the Children Initiative.” This initiative has sponsored 300 students to continue their post-basic education at the BATC Zaria City Center.

The students, carefully selected from the six wards of Bola’ige’s constituency, will pursue their Junior Secondary School (JSS) education, with many being orphans. This program aims to provide a supportive environment for these students to thrive and reach their full potential.

At the launch ceremony, Muhammad Usman Mai Elsa emphasized the importance of education in transforming lives and communities. “Education is the key to unlocking the potential of our children,” he said. “It is our collective responsibility to ensure that every child has access to quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances.”

Ezra Gea, Coordinator of the “Save the Children Initiative,” expressed his gratitude to Mahmud and his team for their unwavering commitment to the initiative. “This program would not have been possible without the support of our honorable member, Mahmud Lawal Isma’ila,” he said. “We are proud to be part of this initiative, which is making a tangible difference in the lives of these children.”

Beneficiaries and parents alike expressed their appreciation for the program, citing its potential to transform their lives. “I am grateful for this opportunity,” said Hafiz Kabir From Ƙwarbai B Ward, Salihu Nuhu From Kaura Ward and Fatima Yahaya Abubakar From Ƙwarbai A. “We were struggling to ensure they continue their education, but now they have hope for a brighter future.”

A parent, who wished to remain anonymous, added, “This program is a blessing to us. My child was at risk of dropping out of school, but now they have a chance to succeed. We are thankful to Mahmud Lawal and his team for their kindness and generosity.”

The “Save the Children Initiative” is a testament to the power of community-led initiatives in driving positive change. As the program continues to grow and expand, it is clear that the impact will be felt for generations to come.
