The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Bauchi State branch has saluted Governor Bala Mohammed on the recent judicial autonomy signed into law, adding that it will boost the quality of the judicial system in the state.

In a press release availed to newsmen in Bauchi by the the Branch Chairman in the state Jibrin S Jibrin, the stage is now set for the much needed financial autonomy for the judicial arm to operate optimally.

The NBA posits that the judges at all levels and other stakeholders in the judicial sector by the new legislation should step up for higher service, selflessness and dedication to duty.

The statement read in part, , “The society will now become more interested in monitoring the performance of judicial actors especially from the lenses of the kind of judgement they deliver as the mirror of their intergrity, fear of God and Protection of law”.

“On our own part, the Bar under our able leadership will continue to work closely with other stakeholders in ensuring provision of corresponding immediate implementation of the law,

” so that unlike some states, we will be seen to be walking the talk state as far as Practical implementation is concerned”, the statement added.

It further reiterated their commitment for positive action with regards to other critical issues negatively affecting justice delivery in the state.
