INSECURITY: Emir of Gwandu appeals to citizens to intensify prayers

The Emir of Gwandu Kebbi State, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar is appealing to the citizenry to sustain prayers to Allah towards surmounting security and social problems facing the nation.

The monarch was speaking this Saturday at the Abdullahi Fadio Palace, Birnin Kebbi at the Turbaning of some prominent sons and a daughter of Kebbi State as well as a representative of Plateau State Community.

Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar advised all Nigerians to be absolutely devoted to the worship of God for guidance and protection to the leadership and followership.

Those turbaned by the Royal Father were Kebbi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan as Barden Gwandu, former Head of Service Alhaji Abubakar Udu Idris as Dallatun Gwandu and a female Medical Doctor, Dr. Amina Muhammad Shamaki who was a Federal Permanent Secretary as Jarumar Gwandu.

Others were a former Secretary of Education FCT Abuja, Alhaji Kabiru Usman as Durbin Gwandu and Da Gyang Pam Mangai as Wakilin Plateau State indigenes residing in Gwandu Emirate.

The emir made it clear that their appointment and turbaning was based on their individual and collective contribution to the development of the society particularly Gwandu Emirate which qualified them for the traditional titles bestowed on them.

Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar pledged to extend similar gesture to all persons involve in societal growth through humanitarian services to the people of Gwandu Emirate and Kebbi State.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was represented at the ceremony by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Hassan Muhammad Shallah Gwandu, while two former governors of the state, Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero and Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari as well as former Military Governor of Rivers State retired Colonel Musa Shehu graced the occasion.

The Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar was represented by Alhaji Aliyu Attahiru Galadiman Sokoto while the emirs of Argungu, Yauri and Zuru sent representatives to the event which was also attended by Alhaji Jabbi Kilgori Sa’in Kilgori, Federal, State and Local Governments officials and hundreds of well-wishers.
