Inferno: Bagudu in Bui Sabon Gari, Tudun Dabaga on sympathy visit

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State was in Bui Sabon Gari and Tudun Dabaga villages of Arewa local Government this Friday to sympathise with the communities over fire incident which razed some hamlets in the areas .

The Governor was accompanied by the Speaker Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Muhammad Abubakar Lolo, Chief of Staff Government House Birnin Kebbi, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, Jarman Kabi, Commissioner of local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Hassan Muhammad Shalla, Commissioner of Water Resources and Rural Development , Hon Nuradeen Usman Kangiwa as well as the Chairman of Arewa Local Government, Hon Sani Aliyu Tela among others.

In Bui Sabon Gari, where seven households were affected, the governor with his delegation trekked from house to house to sympathise with the victims affected by the inferno.

He said while commiserating with one of the victims, Abdullahi Gayya ‘ We are here to sympathise with you over the fire incident and pray to God to avert future occurrence’.

Responding on behalf of the victims, Salihu Kakabu expressed happiness over the visit of the Governor.

The fire incident according to him , occured ten days ago in the night resulting in the loss of food crops and properties.

While interacting with the community women , the governor encouraged them to continue to send their wards to school, go for regular check up in hospitals and the children vaccinated against diseases.

Special prayers were held at Bui mosque anchored by Liman Hassan Bui .

At Tulun Dabaga in Bachaka district where 13 houses were affected by the inferno with destruction to food crops and properties, Bagudu also commiserated with the victims.

The Village Head Muhammad Maifulani thanked the governor for his sympathy by coming to see for himself the calamity that befell them.

A resident, Malan Abu Bellon Dabaga while appreciating the governor with his delegation for the visit , requested for relief assistance.

Also Yariman Bachaka and Mama Hauwa , the women leader in the community all expressed profound gratitude to the governor for coming to their aid.

Yariman Bachaka also sought the intervention of the governor to provide additional source of water to them.

The water borehole operator, Usman Julde told the governor that the submersible pump and the generator were faulty .

Addressing, the crowd of community members in the village,Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu while commiserating with them over the inferno also expressed happiness with spirit of unity and cooperation amongst the people in the area.

He charged them to be their brothers’ keeper worthy of emulation by other communities .

The governor also advised fulani women in the community to form cooperative groups in order to benefit from Government’s entrepreneurship skill acquisition program in modern dairy process .

On the issue of water , the governor upon finding out the cost for the repairs of the borehole, released the sum of nine hundred thousand naira for the purchase of submersible pump and electric generator and workmanship for the repairs of the borehole.

In the end, he assured the fire victims of the State Government’s readiness to assist them with relief assistance.

The Chairman of Arewa Local Government, Hon Sani Aliyu Tela, the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon Hassan Muhammad Shalla, Commissioner of Water Resources and Rural Development, Hon Nuradeen Usman Kangiwa commended the Governor for his numerous visits to fire victims across the state and provision of portable drinking water to rural communities.

The Hon Commissioner of Water Resources. Hon. Nurudeen Usman Kangiwa said Kebbi State Government under the leadership of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu spent over 27 billion naira from 2015 to date in ensuring supply of electricity across the state

He averred ‘ From 2015 to date, this administration spent over 27 billion on electricity. We connected over 200 villages with electricity, purchased over 500 transformers and erected over 200 pole lines destroyed by wind “, he said .
