Igbo Day 2022: Mallam Ubandoma Celebrates with Igbo Community in Sokoto

As Igbos all over Nigeria commemorates the 2022 annual day celebrations, the Sokoto State PDP Governorship Candidate in the upcoming general elections, Mallam Saidu Umar FCNA has enjoy them to keep on the good spirit of oneness and cohesion. He made the remark at the 2022 Igbo Day Celebration and Endowment Fund Raising occasion organised by the Igbo Community in Sokoto as part of activities marking this year’s Igbo day commemoration held at Immigration Command Headquarters.

Mallam Ubandoma described the event as an opportunity to reconnect with brothers and sisters that shares same root in Nigeria. ” Today is our day, and today is everybody’s day in Sokoto ” he said. He commended the Igbos in Sokoto for maintaining the long age cordial relationship with other tribes in the State. He congratulate them on this auspicious day, declaring that, the Igbos in Sokoto relates well with their host community through trade, farm and other day-to-day dealings of human endeavor.

He further explained that his relationship with the Eze-Igbo of Sokoto and other prominent Elders of the Forum attracted more positive developmental initiatives in the state. He reaffirmed that the Igbos and other Members of the resident communities in Sokoto state are faring well under the administration of Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. This according to the Sokoto PDP Governorship flagbearer was solidified through the appointment of a Member of the Resident Communities as Special Adviser.

He called on them to entrust the PDP with another opportunity to consolidate on the successes recorded. He however, assure them that with their support and cooperation at the polls next year, the PDP in Sokoto, and Nigeria is more than prepared to provide more opportunities that will boost their businesses and enhance their living standards. He said enough time to stamp out the abysmally performed ruling APC.

On his part, the President General of Igbo Community in Sokoto State, Onwa Chief Donald Chukwu was full of appreciations, he equally highlighted the years of cordial relationship that has existed between them, and the good people of Sokoto which he said made them always feel at home. He also thanked the invited guests for attending the occasion which featured the display of different Igbo culture and traditions.

The event was attended by the Governor of Sokoto State, represented by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Information, Aqibu Dalhatu, Deputy PDP Governorship Candidate, Hon Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa Special Advisers: Professor Rabiu Bello Alkali Mni, Hon Nafiu Bello Basakkwace, and Hon Shafiq Ibrahim. It was also attended by Chairman NYCN Sokoto, Yakubu Abubakar, Alh Kasimu Ummarun Kwabo, Alh Sidi Bello, Alh Ibrahim Ubandoma, Yahaya Kure, among others.
