A medical outreach program in Bauchi State has brought hope and healing to thousands of residents, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Christian medical professionals from the diaspora and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bauchi State Chapter.

The initiative, which kicked off on July 18, 2025, and runs until July 20, 2025, is providing free consultations, surgical procedures, psychological counseling, and economic empowerment services to deserving residents across the state.

The outreach has been made possible by the peaceful and inclusive atmosphere created by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s administration.

According to Rev Matthew Wakili Laslimbo and Rev Promise Nuhu Yohanna, CAN representatives, the governor’s consistent support for religious harmony and community development has been instrumental in facilitating the initiative.

Prof. Tobe Momah, one of the lead coordinators of the outreach, praised the governor’s approach to governance, citing his model of inclusivity and openness as a key factor in their decision to partner with the state.

The medical outreach has been a blessing to communities across Bauchi State, with many beneficiaries receiving lifesaving surgeries, mental health support, and training opportunities.

The initiative has also included the distribution of free medical kits, hygiene supplies, and startup materials to empower vulnerable groups.

Local pastors and clergy have jointly offered prayers for peace and progress in the state, underscoring the importance of interfaith collaboration in bringing about meaningful change.
