Health: Abubakar Tafawa Balewa teaching hospital launches e-health to optimized healthcare services to people

The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi has launched an e-Health solutions facility towards meeting the health care needs of the citizens.

The move is collaboration between the Federal Ministries of Health, Communication and digital economy Through the Nigeria communications commission NCC and an ICT firm Prime E-Health.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chief medical Director, ATBUTH Prof. Yusuf jibril Bara said the hospital is committed toward providing easy, accessible and most affordable healthcare services through innovations and ICT solutions.

Prof. Yusuf Jibrin Bara explained that the Hospital since its establishment in 2010 has been working toward subsidizing The clinical, medical and tele-medical services thereby engaging with all relevant stakeholders including the Federal Ministry of health, Nigeria communications commission NCC as well as other ICT tech hubs.

According to him this positive Marriage has yielded successes including The Moleculer genetics and infectious diseases Laboratory, In-viotro fertilization IVF, endourology Facility among others.

He added that The E-Health encompasses more than a mere technological and most emerging field in the intersection of medical informatics and public health for actualization.

Prof. Yusuf Bara therefore sought the continued support of all core stakeholders for the success of the solutions and initiatives of the hospital aimed at ensuring quality and affordable healthcare services to the citizens.

In his address The permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of health Dr. Mahmuda Mamman represented by Director, Teaching hospitals Dr. Noah Andrew said the inclusion of technological innovation and advancement into Healthcare sector is among the priority of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In their Goodwill Massages The representative of Nigeria communications commission NCC and the ICT firm partner prime E-Health all congratulated ATBUTH and the community for the milestone and promised for more collaboration with the hospital.

Responding on behalf of the Host community of the hospital, The chairman ATBUTH league of Friends Alh. Nuru Adamu Jumba commended the initiative whiuch he termed as life and cost saving innovation for the common man.

The e-health is a relatively recent healthcare practice supported by electronic processes and communication, dating back 1999.
