The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in collaboration with the Primary Health care Development Agency has extended the deadline for the completing the administration of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination to this year intending Pilgrims to Monday 19th 2021.
The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alh Abubakar Babangida Tafida Tafidan Giade stated this while briefing press on the ongoing vaccination excercise, stressing that Monday 19th will be the final date for the first stage of the excercse.
The Executive Secretary added that the administration of the second dose of the vaccine to all prospective intending Pilgrims will be commence from 28th of May 2021.
Emphasising on the need for the extension, Babangida said is as a result of the series of appeals for it, particularly from the families of those who are far from the state.
He therefore advised all those who has intention of going for this year’s hajj to take advantage of the grace period and appear on Monday 19th as the Saudi Arabia has made Covid-19 vaccination as one of the priority criteria to allow any Pilgrims to the Kingdom.
Babangida Tafida used the medium to appreciate the impressive turn out of the intending Pilgrims for the vaccination and urged them to maintain the tempo at the subsequent calling.
